The project involves four \u201cFounders Period\u201d (Gr\u00fcnderzeit) buildings that have undergone a comprehensive renovation. The buildings were thermally renovated and were extended with a lightweight loft addition. One of the buildings was also given three additional storeys in solid wood construction. The renovation and extension reduced the heating requirements of the buildings from more than 130 kWh\/(m\u00b2 gross floor areaa) to an average of 25 kWh\/(m\u00b2 gross floor areaa). <\/p>\n\n
